Yep naughty me again

Ok, Ok as you can tell I'm just not good at Blogging, well regular posting that is.  This time I won't promise to say I will do it regularly because that clearly isn't working for me!

I've been pretty busy making Customer quilts and when not doing that I'm being a mum and wife.  I am happy to say my order list is nearly at a end for this year and at this point I'm going to have a think of what to do next year.  I have a new business in the pipe works which I am hoping will give me some of my zing back.  Don't get me wrong I love what I do but sometimes when you make quilt after quilt and nothing in between breaking it up you just become tired.  I have now made 4 of my own quilts to sell and I can't seem to get a bite on any of them so this becomes very disheartening, especially when it should sell for $220 but is now $160 and still not selling.  It sort of makes you wonder if you just can't design anymore.  Facebook has become so saturated you really wonder if its worth continuing on.

So maybe the break will do me good for a while...who knows

Dainty Blossom Quilt

I finished this quilt for a showcase last night hoping it would sell but unfortunately didn't.
Its 150x150cm 100% cotton using Riley Blake Fabrics.

This is the first time I have tried this style Quilt, it had me scratching my head at times and have to admit throwing fabric across the room too but I am pretty pleased with myself on the end result :)

Its has a burn't orange border and teal binding is, 105x105cm with a batting centre.
Price is $160 and postage is free.

Custom Order

I have to say this Strawberry Tea Party has been a very popular fabric and has been around for a while now and I don't think I ever get sick of it.  This is a custom design for a customer in cot size and will have a bright pink backing.  The design was created by my customer which for a change was great as it gave the brain a break lol.  I like it because its just a simple big block but effective.

A Quilt in Progress

This is a Quilt in progress.  I just love Amy Butler fabrics, they are so bold in colour and most of the collections can be mixed and matched which is hard to find in alot of other designer collections.  So stay tuned for the finished product :)

New Fabric on order

Ok so I promised myself I would stop buying fabric and start making more quilts with what I had here, but when you constantly have fabric coming up on your news feed my hands take control and click add to cart while my other hand is already reaching for a pen to start designing what I will do with it.

This one is the new Jennifer Paganeli which is about to be released.

This is another one....yum!

And one for the Boys....Yum Chevron and Dots

These arrived this week!

And the one I have been waiting for Riley Blake's One for the Boys.

I think I'm going to be a busy girl over the next 12 months plus my customer orders and now I am studying....ekkkkkkkk.

The End Result

My girlfriend took some pictures for me of the Quilt, Pillowcase & Cushion I made for her Beautiful little girl.  She's done such a great job doing up her room and I think it looks fantastic and infact it may now be going into a Kids magazine in Spring to promote handmade.... excited much.

I've always had a goal to be printed but never thought it would happen due to being a small business and not as popular as some, but it goes to show it just takes a couple of pictures to be noticed!

Pieces of Hope Quilt

My next quilt I have just finished is Riley Blake's Pieces of Hope fabric.  This fabric was especially bought out to donate a certain amount of funds when fabric was purchased to Autism.  This quilt has been donated to raise funds for a Autistic School in South Australia.  You can find the Auction here.

I was Pinned by Riley Blake

So who is a fan of Pinterest???  Have you heard of Pinterest???  If you haven't then check this out About Pinterest

I have to say I'm not obsessed but I just love looking through at all the amazing images and idea's out there.  I've found some beautiful quilts out there and also some very talented people around, but today I am truly blown away.  I had a quilt pinned by the Riley Blake Page My pinned Quilt .  I have been a huge admirer of Riley Blake since starting my business and would probably say that what a large majority of my custom orders are for their fabrics.  I'm just a small Handmade business in Australia so its very much a high lol.

If you haven't experienced Pinterest and your wanting to suss it out....be warned it is addictive.   Its like your own ideas board online so you'll never run out of pins lol.
